Regarding Carbon Border Adjustment

With regard to Carbon Border Adjustment

I have been commenting on Carbon Border Adjustment these past days. It is fair to point out that this is an issue under discussion in many a fora. It is far from a closed matter and will probably be the subject of controversy within the short and medium terms. Lacking a global regime that has the power to curb our planet's rising average temperature, one must expect that varying forms of Carbon Border Adjustment be envisaged and also enforced by individual countries and economic blocks. To be able to enforce local or block level measures to deal with Climate Change, and at the same time preserve the competitiveness of their firms in strong emitting sectors -sectors that will be locally producing under emission restrictions-
In the absence of a global effective system one can expect to see Carbon Border Adjustment regimes instead; this unless COP 18 now gathered at Doha can surprise us all.
